Congratulations! This means that either the programme your are supporting, and/or a Mentee, have specifically asked for you to help support them through all or some of their development programme (probably for a minimum of two or three months). You will probably have been assigned if you are a Coach, Principal Mentor or regular type of Supporter.
Once you are assigned, you have permission to view your Mentee's progress page. You can access this through the My Mentees section.
If you click View progress page, you will now have access to their Goals and Tasks, to help you get a sense quickly about what they are trying to achieve during the programme.
Giving assigned Supporters access to progress pages helps them to have context when they run advisory or mentoring sessions - at the very least, to understand what the programme is trying to achieve and how mentoring or coaching can help.
Assignment does come with two responsibilities however.
- Whenever a Mentee reports on their progress onto their progress page, you are expected to meet with them if they request it, to discuss next steps. The onus is on the Mentee to arrange this meeting or call, and we make setting meetings up this part of their reporting process.
- When you do meet or speak on a call, you are also expected to add a meeting report directly onto their progress page during or just after the meeting. This helps the programme know you have met and collects your feedback from that meeting which might otherwise be lost or forgotten.
Generally you are also asked to be a sounding board during your meetings and calls, but you can read more general guidelines about assigned Supporter responsibilities here.
Supporter reporting should take no more than 5 minutes after or during your meeting, and is designed to replace the emails most mentors end up sending their mentees anyway. Meeting reports can be shared with other Supporters, just your Mentee, and/or the Programme.
If you receive reporting updates from your Mentee but never a meeting request or booking, please message Admin in the Messages section.
