When Supporters (mentors, coaches, on demand advisors, managers etc) onboard onto a Kandu network, they make some choices about subnetworks, and provide some data points such as what they know about.
If you are a Supporter, Kandu’s algorithm takes your data points and:
1. Decides which Mentees you will be available to on the network. For example, if you have chosen they you only wish to support Prototype level businesses in say a single location, you will automatically not be viewable (or able to view) the full list of Mentees on the whole network if their business are at Research, Early Traction, Growth or Scaling stage and/or they are not based at your preferred location.
2. Makes suggested matches based on how many of your expertise or skills tags match to Mentees. A higher graded match - eg 80% - should be a better potential match for you than a lower grade eg 50%. These grades are just meant to steer users towards potential matches. They do not suggest that a match is perfect, rather that there may be a relationship worth exploring based on skills and expertise required or offered.
You may therefore have no matches because you have chosen a very narrow network, and/or not tagged your full set of skills. In which case you will see a message such as this
To update your profile to widen your chance of a match please do the following:
- Update your profile and choose more 'business stage' and/or location support options. If you only choose one option eg Prototype you will only be made available/ viewable and matchable to prototype stage businesses.
- Add more tags to your 'Knowledge areas'. We have hundreds to choose from! Just search and click, and if you wish for us to add a new tag, email firstname.lastname@example.org
We do not let users add their own tags as often this causes missed matches as users may use different language to describe the same needs eg sales, selling.
If you make these changes and still have no matches, please do nothing and wait. Kandu will let the organisation who is responsible for your network know who is missing matches, as part of our knowledge gap analysis we do for all clients.
The organisation may after this choose to get in touch with you about Mentees who may meet your requirements.
We will email you if any matches appear at a later date.
